PAST EVENTS
24th Annual Dinner Dance
Wow! That was one of the great evenings and thank you very much for all those who participated and helped to organise this event. The event started with the cocktail in the Lobby with scrumptious snacks and piano music by Chrishanthy and accompaniment by her friends.The Annual General Meeting took place as the first part of the event and the Executive Committee for 2012/2013 was elected.
Our Mastres of Ceremony were Ameetha and Sulochana and they kept the Dinner Agenda going on full swing and made their best effort to promote the enrolement of Life Members. A total of 15 Life members joined for the year 2012.
Little Shriya Esananda sang beautifully the National Anthem and Thamil Thai Vaalththu and also a song from Titanic. Our thanks to Shriya and to her parents. The Ladies of Vembadi performed the Dance titled VOGA CAN DANCE! It was a fantastic dance by ten of our members Indra, Selva,Jayanthy,Sentha,Sivamalar, Manju,Rita, Shanthy, Nanthini and Bhamini. The Choreography was done by Lukshmy and Vimo. Our thanks to Vimo and Lukshmy.
Ragavan once again made the evening lively by his wonderful musical performance and our association is very grateful for his kind contribution towards our association on an on-going basis. Sumathy and Sara added more flavour to the event with their songs. Sumathy's song "Marainthirunthu Paarkkum Marmam Enna"made Malini to perform a surprise dramatic dance. Kudos for both!
Ameetha did a dazzling performance for ABBA's Dancing Queen.
Two of our scheduled performances a dance by Manjula and live music by Sampath were cancelled due to unavoidable circumstances. Our DJ did a wonderful piece of his work during the dance.
Thanks to Minnal TV for the wonderful Portraits. And most of all we would like to thank Jey, Sasi and Staff of Claireport for the delicious food and wonderful venue with amazing table and stage set-up . Overall the Dinner Dance was a success and all of us enjoyed a beautiful evening with our friends and family. Hope to see you all again in our 25th Anniversary Celebrations in the year 2013. .

Saraswathy Pooja 2012
Our Saraswathy Pooja Took place on Sunday,October 21st 2012 at Sai Illam, 20 Slan Avenue, Scarborough, Ontario. We had Bhajan songs, Dance Recitals, Carnatic Vocal singing and Flute Performance. Our life Member Mrs.Kohila Vivegananthan spoke about Saraswathy Pooja Festival. We thank all those who contributed towards the success of this religious event.
TSSA SPORTS MEET 2012
Our Junior team participated at this years sports meet which took place on July 29th 2012 and won the second place. In spite of their busy schedule with University admissions etc. our junior team players did very well. We wish to thank all the parents who spent a lot of time during practice time and the sports day to help achieve the success. Congratulations Junior Team and wish you Good Luck in your post-secondary education!

SARASWATHY POOJA 2011
This years Saraswathy Pooja took place at Sai Illam , 20 Slan Avenue, Scarborough on Oct 01/2011.
The event was well attended by members and friends and we thank Sai Illam for providing us with the divine location and also to the Saraswathy Pooja sub-committee and the Executive Committee for organising the wonderful event.

ANNUAL DINNER DANCE 2011
WOW! That was a great evening. Amazing performance by all. Our Dinner Dance took place on Sept 10,2011 @ Baba Banquet Hall and was well attended. Thank you ladies for your presence. We missed some of our members who attended the dinner regularly due to their health conditions and some unavoidable circumstances. Our Masters of Ceremony Bavani and Gayathri played a wonderful role. Cynthia Rangan's performance was fantastic. She moved so fast on stage that we could not even catch a camera shot of hers. Thanks Cynthia! Sumathy,Sara, Duncan and Ravi offered some beautiful songs for our ears. We thank our ladies who came from a long distance to attend this occasion. Yaso Acca's poem was really good. We also want to thank our centralites for attending the function.Thanks to Rameez for the colourful production of the magazine. Sampath and Roshan of Show Case Band made the occasion fabulous. You guys Rock! Thank you so much. Nish supported us with his great DJ. Baba Baquet Hall did an excellent job with their hall and food.

TSSA SPORTS MEET 2011
We did it again! Our Junior Netball team played four games on August 7th,2011 @ the TSSA Sports Meet and won first place. The Senior team also won second place. In spite of the heavy rain and hot and humid weather both teams played excellently. Congratulations to all players and coaches. Jayanthy, the Sports Secretary and Selvajothy, the Assistant Sports Secretary worked very hard in training and organising the teams. Well Done Girls! Our special cheers goes to Suganthy, Selvajothy and Dharshini for keeping up with the game for the past 35 years or so.

VEMBADI - CENTRAL ANNUAL PICNIC AND WALK-A-THON 2011
Our annual picnic and walk-a-thon which took place on July 23,2011 was well attended and turned out to be a a very enjoyable event. Thanks for Central OBA for their contribution to make this event a success. Our special thanks to all the international guests from Central 70s Bash for their enthusiastic participation.
